Last week I made a stopover in Canberra, Australia's capital. It is a pretty small city, that can be covered in a few days. It features a lot of museums and parks. The Film and Sound Archive is a great place to learn about the film and television industry in Australia. The Canberra Museum and Gallery featured lots of historical pieces from the history of the city - telephones, dishes, clothing, videos. Questacon offers many hands-on science exhibits, it's geared more towards children, but I had fun. The Australian Royal Mint has exhibits displaying the coin making process and the history of money in Australia. Otherwise, most of my time was spent using the great walking paths around the man-made lake in the center of the city. Overall very mellow few days learning about the capital.
