2012 has gone whirling past and another year was spent in Taiwan for me. This year I went to watch the fireworks on the roof of a friend's house, very near Taipei 101. We spent the pre-hours dining on snacks from around the world and chatting until the time drew near.
As Taipei 101's screen on the top of the building counted down, fireworks began to shoot out of the sides of the building, proclaiming a new year had begun.
